Approving adverse action against the Taxicab Driver (Renewal) license application submitted by Abdi Wali Ahmed.

WHEREAS, the Taxicab Driver (Renew) license application submitted by Abdi Wali Ahmed (20120005205) for the City of Saint Paul was the subject of a Notice of Intent to Deny License dated September 26, 2013, stating that during a routine criminal history check as part of the renewal process, the Department of Safety and Inspections discovered that the licensee was convicted on February 14, 2013 of Careless Driving in Hennepin County; and
WHEREAS, per to Saint Paul Legislative Code ยง 376.16 (e) (5) (a) (3), the licensing office recommended denial of his Taxicab Driver (Renew) license; and
WHEREAS, the licensee responded to the Notice of Intent to Deny License to admit to the facts but contest the denial of his license and requested a public hearing which was held on October 16, 2013; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Taxicab Driver (Renew) license application submitted by Abdi Wali Ahmed for the City of Saint Paul is hereby denied.
This resolution, and action taken above, is based upon facts contained in the September 26, 2013, Notice of Intent to Deny License sent to the licensee and the arguments made at the public hearing on October 16, 2013.
