Title
Authorizing the Parks and Recreation Department to enter into a grant agreement, including an indemnification clause, with the State of Minnesota to receive funds and implement youth employment programs.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department wishes to enter into a grant agreement with the State of Minnesota to receive funds and implement youth employment programs; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department would be able to implement youth employment programs that serve hundreds of young people throughout Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, as a condition of  the funding the State of Minnesota  requires that the City indemnify and hold harmless the State of Minnesota  with respect to  the receipt  and  administration of a youth employment program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the use of fund to implement young employment among disadvantaged teens and young adults serves a public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the Parks and Recreation Department permission to enter into the attached grant agreement with the State of Minnesota  which contains an indemnification clause.
