Amending the Police Department 2013 budget in the amount of $206,806.99 to use unclaimed monies for the purchase of a condensed mobile shelving unit in the property room.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department wished to purchase a condensed mobile shelving unit to maximize usable space in the property room resulting in more than double the storage capacity which is currently at its capacity; and
WHEREAS, this improvement is an essential component to the implementation of the evidence management program; and
WHEREAS, the department desires to use unclaimed monies to fund this improvement as defined and allowed for in Chapter 14, Section 14.04 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code as amended, (Ord 12-82); and
WHEREAS, the 2013 financing and spending plan needs to be amended as provided here; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $206,806.99 in excess of those estimated in the 2013 budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the following addition be made to the 2013 budget:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council approves these changes to the 2013 budget.
