Approving the use of assessment financing in accordance with City policy for the installation of a fire protection system requested by Joseph Commers for 2505 University Avenue West. (File No. FP2013-01, Assessment No. 137100)

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul ("Council") has received a petition from Joseph Commers for specially assessing the costs of a fire protection system for the building located at 2505 University Ave. W.; and
WHEREAS, said petition meets the requirements of Chapter 429 of the Minnesota Statutes and the city policy on assessing costs for fire protection systems; and
WHEREAS, the Council has fully considered and reviewed the petition and policy; and
WHEREAS, The Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $61,912.43 in the 2013 budget; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Council does hereby authorize that the above described improvement be made, and the proper city officials are hereby directed to proceed with the improvement; and be it further
RESOLVED, that upon completion of said improvement, the proper city officials shall calculate all expenses incurred therein and shall report the same to the Council in accordance with Chapter 429 of the Minnesota Statutes and the fire protection system policy.
