Purpose of Appeal
Wish time to remediate house.  We have begun extermination process and will clear out house from expiration of time allowing tenants to remove their property (COB 07/17/13).  Expect clean up and repairs to be started immediately thereafter.  Request stay of condemnation to avoid Class 2 vacant building classification during remediation.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Thomas McDonough to a Vacant Building Registration Notice and Summary Abatement Order at 1478 SHELDON STREET, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and
 
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the tenants of condemned unit have until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 to remove all personal belongings.  Owner has until close of business on Monday, July 29, 2013 to come into compliance with the summary abatement order; waive the Vacant Building fee for 90 days.  (NOTE: no full dumpsters sitting on property overnight); Now, Therefore, Be It
 
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
