Accepting a travel scholarship from the Citizens League for Noel Nix, Legislative Aide to Councilmember Nathaniel Khaliq, to attend the Generation Now Leadership visit in Milwaukee, WI, August 14-16, 2013.

WHEREAS, the Citizens League has invited Noel Nix, Legislative Aide to Councilmember Nathaniel Khaliq, to participate in the Generation Now Leadership Visit, held August 14-16, 2013, in Milwaukee, WI, for the purpose of participating in a learning cohort to share and explore ideas on the various leadership styles in use in Milwaukee and how these styles and solutions can be adapted and incorporated into our own communities. This conference will also contribute to the building of cross-sector relationships within Minnesota and will build a more cohesive team working to tackle issues facing our region.; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens League has granted a scholarship for travel expenses for conference, transportation, lodging and meal costs totaling no more than $1,000, for Noel Nix to attend said event; now
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council on behalf of the citizens of Saint Paul, accepts the gift of lodging and travel from the Citizens League and appropriates it to the public purpose of Noel Nix's attendance at the conference; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Council determines this to have public purpose and the Council extends its thanks and appreciation to the Citizens League for its generosity and public service in this matter.
