Accepting a donation from the St. Anthony Park Community Foundation, and amending the budget in the Department of Parks and Recreation by adding a $21,444 financing and spending plan for donated funds towards implementation of a play area at Hendon Triangle Park.
Body
WHEREAS, the Hendon Triangle play area was installed in 1965 and was determined to be in an unsafe condition by Parks and Recreation Operations and Maintenance staff and removed in 2012; and
WHEREAS, the St. Anthony Park Community Foundation would like to replace the equipment removed from the park with a new play area; and
WHEREAS, the St. Anthony Park Community Foundation and the City have worked cooperatively to develop a project approach to replace the equipment that is acceptable to both parties; and
WHEREAS, the St. Anthony Park Community Foundation has raised $21,444.00 for donation towards the purchase and installation of new play equipment; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Department of Parks and Recreation to amend the financing and spending budget for Hendon Triangle Play Area replacement; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $21,444.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2012 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the donation of $21,444.00 for the purchase and installation of play equipment and thanks St. Anthony Park Community Foundation for its generous gift; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $21,444.00 is available for appropriation in the 2012 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2012 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is here by further amended.
