Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Parks and Recreation's Grant & Aid Fund in the amount of $269,322 to reflect budget updates to the Como Circulator Grant.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking additional spending authority for 2013 in the Como Bus Circulator budget, to fulfill payment obligations for grant projects that were previously estimated to have 2012 completion dates; and
WHEREAS, the existing 2013 Budget was created with the expectation that the major expenditure items were concluding in 2012; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation now has an addition to the 2013 Bus Grant spending plan in the amount of $269,322 for the purchase of electronic bus signage at the Como Zoo and Conservatory; and
WHEREAS, this spending qualifies for reimbursement from the Federal Transportation Administration, which therefore provides the financing source for this budget increase; and
WHEREAS, the signage portion of the Como Bus Grant is now estimated to have a completion date of 8/31/2013; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, in accordance with Section 10.07.1 of the City Charter, certifies that there are revenues available for appropriation totaling $269,322 in excess of that estimated in the 2013 budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that designated Parks and Recreation staff be given permission to authorize spending authority of this $269,322, and that the Council of the City of Saint Paul approves these amendments to the 2013 budget.
