Authorizing the vacation and disposal of the Arlington Hills Branch Library at 1105 Greenbrier Street.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul ("City") owns a public branch library located at 1105 Greenbrier Street, as described in Exhibit A and depicted in Exhibit B attached hereto (the "Arlington Library"); and
 
WHEREAS, the Arlington Library is scheduled to be removed from public service in the spring of 2014 when library operations relocate to the new Payne Maryland library and recreation center currently under construction; and
 
WHEREAS, the City has determined there is no longer a public purpose for owning and maintaining the Arlington Library property so that it may now be vacated and disposed of; and
 
WHEREAS, as stated in the Report to the City Council, attached hereto as Exhibit C, the Saint Paul Public Library is requesting to dispose of the Arlington Library by issuing a Request for Proposals to identify potential purchasers who would be committed to providing programs, services or products of benefit to the surrounding community; now, therefore be it
 
RESOLVED, that upon the petition of the City, as documented in Office of Financial Services File Number 07-2013, said Arlington Library is hereby vacated and discontinued as public property, subject to the terms and conditions of Chapter 130, codified March 1, 1981, of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, as amended; and be it further
 
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to dispose of the Arlington Library in accordance with Chapter 51 of the Administrative Code; that the sale proceeds shall be deposited into the proper city account as determined by the Office of Financial Services; and that the City's administrative costs to dispose of said property shall be reimbursed from the sale proceeds.
