Congratulating Evelyn A. Senty on her retirement after more than 35 years of serving the City of Saint Paul.

WHEREAS, Ev began working for Saint Paul Parks and Recreation as a CETA worker in 1976, and
WHEREAS, Ev has worked in the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department's Adaptive Recreation Program as a certified employee since October 4, 1977, and
WHEREAS, Ev has dedicated her career to providing recreation opportunities to children and adults with disabilities, and
WHEREAS, Ev has demonstrated leadership, support, knowledge, generosity, patience, dedication, compassion and outstanding community service, and
WHEREAS, Ev has mentored many part-time employees within the Adaptive Recreation Program, and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has relied on Ev to provide training and take the lead on inclusion of people with disabilities in all recreation programs, and
WHEREAS, Ev has run a very successful swim lesson program for people with disabilities, despite not knowing how to swim herself, and
WHEREAS, Ev is retiring at the end of June after more than 35 years of service,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby thanks Ev for her decades of valuable service to the City and its residents, and wishes her well as she enters retirement.
