Title

Authorizing the Police Department to enter into an agreement with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to participate in the Safe Streets Violent Gang Task Force (SSTF).

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) wishes to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Twin Cities Safe Streets Violent Gang Task Force (SSTF), and

WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding will delineate the responsibilities of the SSTF personnel and formalize relationships between participating agencies for policy guidance, planning, training, public media relations; and maximize inter-agency cooperation; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the council approves entering into and authorizes Chief Thomas Smith to implement the attached agreement with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
