Approving adverse action against the Taxicab Vehicle licenses for Cab #781, Cab #783, Cab #1386 and Cab #1974 held by Twin Cities Airport Taxi & Limo Svc., Inc.

WHEREAS, adverse action was taken against the Taxicab Vehicle licenses for Cab #781 (License ID #20100004068), Cab #783 (License ID #20100004070), Cab #1386 (License ID #20120000029) and Cab #1974 (License ID #20120003754) held by Twin Cities Airport Taxi & Limo Svc., Inc. d/b/a Twin Cities Airport Taxi & Limo Service for the City of Saint Paul, by Notice of Violation dated April 10, 2013, alleging the licensee submitted liability insurance coverage for Cab #781, #1386 and #1974 with a lapse in insurance from November 11, 2012 to November 16, 2012; and
WHEREAS, the licensee did not add liability insurance coverage for Cab #783 until January 29, 2013 and as a result there was a lapse in insurance from November 11, 2012 to January 29, 2013; and
WHEREAS, per Saint Paul Legislative Code ยง 310.05 (m) (2), the licensing office recommended a $500.00 matrix penalty for each of the four (4) violations for a total of $2,000.00; and
WHEREAS, licensee did not respond to the Notice of Violation to pay the $2,000.00 matrix penalty or request a hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Notice of Violation stated that if the licensee failed to pay the $2,000.00 matrix penalty or request a hearing by April 22, 2013, that the matter would be placed on the consent agenda to impose the recommended penalty; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that Twin Cities Airport Taxi & Limo Svc., Inc. d/b/a Twin Cities Airport Taxi & Limo Service are hereby ordered to pay a $2,000.00 matrix penalty for a lapse in liability insurance coverage for Cab #781; Cab #783; Cab #1386 and Cab #1974. Payment of such penalty shall be made within thirty (30) days of the date of the adoption of this resolution.
