Approving the use of funds through the Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program for theChelsea Heights Playground Project.
Body
WHEREAS, on April 10, 2013, the Neighborhood STAR Board reviewed a proposal for STAR grant financing through the Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program to assist the Chelsea Heights Parent Teacher Organization with costs associated with their new elementary school playground project; and
WHEREAS, the Chelsea Heights Parent Teacher Organization have raised $165,000 to date as matching funds for this project; and
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood STAR Board rated this project a 3.0 on a scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high); and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Mayor and the Saint Paul City Council to participate in the financing of these activities by providing up to $35,000 in grant financing through the Ward 4 Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program; and
WHEREAS, planning and fundraising work on this project has been ongoing, and expenditures occurring after March 7, 2013, shall hereby qualify for funding; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, staff of the Department of Planning and Economic Development are further authorized and directed to proceed with all other actions necessary to implement this Resolution.
