Accepting the gift of reimbursement for travel expenses for Mayor Coleman and Director of Arts and Culture Joe Spencer to attend the New Orleans Jazz Festival from April 12-15, 2013.

WHEREAS, the French Quarter Jazz Festival, a free, non-profit, community-run jazz festival in New Orleans, Louisiana, is being held from April 12-15, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Coleman and Joe Spencer, Director of Arts and Culture, have been invited to attend the festival with their airfare, lodging, transportation and meal costs being donated by the Twin Cities Jazz Festival; and
WHEREAS, by attending the French Quarter Jazz Festival, Mayor Coleman and Joe Spencer can learn methods for improving the Twin Cities Jazz Festival and expanding its reach and popularity to attract even more visitors to the city; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby accepts the donation of airfare, lodging, ground transportation and meals in the amount of $3,400, appropriates it to the use of Mayor Coleman and Joe Spencer to attend the French Quarter Jazz Festival in New Orleans from April 12-15, 2013, and thanks the Twin Cities Jazz Festival for its generous gift.
