9/21/12: Opening a category I fire exempt file due to severe interior and exterior fire damage that occuerd on 9-14-2012. Arson is being investigated. The file was transfered to me from Insp Mashuga. At the time of my inspection the dwelling was vacant and secure (windows and doors boarded by Respro). Posted placards and took photos. ~MD
11/28/2012: *Recheck - The dwelling was severly damaged from fire - structurally compromised. I will change to cat III and schedule BDI after 90 day fire exemption expires. ~MD

Boarding/Securing (Summary Abatement) 12/10/2012: *Recheck - I spoke to PO's insurance adjuster, Jim whalen, 651 731 1155, he claims they intend to demolish property down to the foundation. Im working with him on getting a signed contract from a contractor with a confirmed date/time of demo. Also, I advised him to remove south side steps, board remaining open windows and to cover.

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Ratifying Collection of Vacant Building Fees billed from May 11 to September 21, 2012 (File No. VB1305, Assessment No. 138804) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and
 
WHEREAS, the City Council's Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and
 
WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It
 
RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Saint Paul City Charter, said assessment is hereby deleted.
