Accepting gift certificates for the Annual Karl Neid Community Involvement Award.
Body
WHEREAS, the Karl Neid Community Involvement Award was established in 1993 as a tribute to the memory of Council Member Karl Neid and as a means to recognize city employees who exemplify a record of outstanding public service and make a significant contribution to improving the quality of life in Saint Paul; and,
WHEREAS, the Karl Neid Award winners raise the prestige of municipal government by providing service above and beyond that which is required by their position, by enthusiastically engaging in community work outside of their position, and by earning the respect of the broader community; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds benefit in recognizing the efforts of city employees who provide superior service to citizens within their positions and throughout the city as a whole; and,
WHEREAS, Ward 6 Food & Drink, the Swede Hollow Café, and the Strip Club Meat & Fish have offered to provide gift certificates for the winner of the 2013 Karl Neid Award;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of gift certificates from Ward 6 Food & Drink, the Swede Hollow Café, and the Strip Club Meat & Fish for the winner of the 2013 Karl Neid Award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council thanks Ward 6 Food & Drink, the Swede Hollow Café, and the Strip Club Meat & Fish for their generous contributions in support of outstanding public employees.
