Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to enter into a three-year lease agreement with District Council groups in various recreation centers.
Body
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation has leased office space to District Council groups in various recreation centers in the past for one year lease terms, and wishes to enter into longer term leases; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Administrative Code ยง86.03(b) requires that any lease of recreation facilities which will exceed one year must have a public hearing before the park commission and be approved by council; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the park commission was held on January 10, 2013 to consider proposed three-year leases with the following District Councils:
Thomas/Dale Planning Council at West Minnehaha
Saint Anthony Park Community Council at South Saint Anthony Recreation Center
Macalaster-Groveland Community Council at Edgcumbe Recreation Center
Highland Area Community Council at Hillcrest Recreation Center
Summit-Hill Association at Linwood Recreation Center
WHEREAS, the park commission recommended approval of the lease agreements; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the appropriate city officials to enter into the attached lease agreements.
