Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $360,590 for the EMS Academy and the Basic Life Support (BLS) Transports.
Body
WHEREAS, the Fire Department needs to establish the spending and financing plans for both the EMS Academy and the BLS Transports, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the EMS Academy is to provide participants the opportunity to prepare for careers in fire and/or EMS services, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the BLS Transports program is to provide the EMS Academy graduates hands-on experience to utilize the skills learned in the EMS Academy and to provide a service to transport patients from the hospital to their residence, and
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for these programs, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriations funds of $360,590.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2013 budget and recommends the following additions be made to the 2013 budget:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council adopts the above changes to the 2013 budget.
