Title
Authorizing the Police Department to accept the fourth (4th) amendment to the Child Sexual Predator Program grant with the State of Minnesota, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to extend the term of the grant.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department has been issued the fourth amendment to the Child Sexual Predator Program grant (#02-115318-I) from the State of Minnesota, Commissioner of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and
WHEREAS, this amendment will extend the contract through February 28, 2013; and
 
WHEREAS,  the original grant agreement contains an indemnification clause which will continue to be in effect; and
 
WHEREAS,  the City Council finds that the grant funding has a public purpose, and that approving the amendment to the grant, including indemnification of the State,  will effectuate that purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that council accepts this grant amendment and authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into, and Chief Thomas Smith to implement the attached amendment with the State of Minnesota.
