Authorizing the Fire Department to pay for all costs associated with the Fire Captain Exam which will be administered at the Saint Paul RiverCentre, November 12-16, 2012.
Body
Pursuant to the 2012 City Budget, the proper City officials are hereby authorized to remit payment for the Fire Captain exam expenses not exceed $6,800.00.  This will pay for all costs incurred by the Saint Paul Fire Department to administer the Fire Captain exam on November 12-16, 2012 at the Saint Paul RiverCentre.  The purpose of this exam is to test and promote the best qualified candidates to Fire Captain and will be conducted with fifteen assessors.  These assessors will be subject matter experts from fire departments in the United States.  The cost include meals, lodging, and parking for the assessors.  The Fire Department shall provide breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages for the assessors and Human Resources staff involved in the administration of this exam since they are unable to leave the exam location each day.  
 
A copy of said order is to be kept on file and of record in the Office of Financial Services.
