Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept grant proceeds of $182,140 from Youthprise and to establish an additional 2012 Budget in the Grant & Aid Fund in the amount of $91,070 to reflect the 2012 portion of the grant funding, and show the corresponding 2012 spending budget made available for the expansion of youth work in the City's North End and Payne Maryland neighborhoods.
Body
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to formalize and expand its effective youth work model into the City's North End and Payne Maryland neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, Youthprise has taken an interest in the expansion of youth work into these neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation has been awarded a $182,140 grant from Youthprise to be used in 2012 and 2013 to fund this expansion of youth work; and
WHEREAS, $91,070 of this grant has been allocated to be used during 2012; and
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation is seeking permission to accept this grant and wishes to establish a 2012 revenue and spending budget in the Parks & Recreation Grant & Aid Fund in this amount ; and
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to add and establish this new activity for the Youthprise (860-33169) with the above listed budget for 2012; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $91,070 in excess of those estimated in the 2012 Grant & Aid Budget; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, that Parks and Recreation is authorized to accept this two year grant, and that $91,070 is available for appropriation in the 2012 Grant & Aid Fund, and said budget, as therefore adopted by the Council, is hereby further amended as indicated in the attached fiscal analysis form.
