Authorizing the Police Department to enter into a Mutual Aid Agreement with the City of Minneapolis to assist one another with emergencies which may occur within the other city.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) wishes to enter into a Mutual Aid Agreement with the City of Minneapolis which includes an indemnification clause; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul and Minneapolis desire to be prepared to address adequately fire, flood, natural disaster, civil disturbance or other emergency which may occur within the other city and agree to furnish assistance to one another in the event of said emergency; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the council approves entering into and authorizes Chief Thomas Smith to implement the attached agreement with the City of Minneapolis.
