Authorizing the Police Department to accept the unsolicited donation of equipment for the SWAT Unit.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (SPPD) has received unsolicited donations from John O'Halloran; and
WHEREAS, three night scopes for rifles were donated to the SPPD SWAT unit at a value of $5,394, and
WHEREAS, twelve ballistic helmets were donated to the SPPD SWAT unit at a value of $5,000; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose served is that the equipment will be issued to the SPPD SWAT unit to improve safety and effectiveness; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts these generous donations and extend its sincere thanks to Mr. O'Halloran.
