Whereas, The Rail-Volution conference brings together professionals to engage in thoughtful discussion about building livable communities with transit; and
Whereas citizens, developers, business leaders, planners, local elected officials, transit operators and government officials are dedicated to creating healthy, economically vibrant, socially equitable and environmentally sustainable communities with transit; and
Whereas, each year, more than 300 communities, towns and regions of all sizes gather to share ideas, breakthroughs, challenges and inspirations for building livable communities with transit; and
Whereas, Ellen Muller, Economic Development Manager in the Department of Planning and Economic Development has been invited to attend this Rail~Volution conference and a special session, at not extra charge, offered by The Funders' Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities, a partner organization of the Central Corridor Funders Collaborative; and
Whereas, the conference will be held October 14-17 in Los Angeles, California; and
Whereas, the Central Corridor Business Resource Collaborative will pay for all costs associated with attendance and participation in the conference by Ms. Muller, with an estimated value not to exceed $1,800; and
Whereas, attending the Rail~Volution conference and special invite-only session with other Saint Paul-Minneapolis attendees will bring together key local transit oriented development leadership with national and international experts to share concrete examples and dialogue about creating vibrant, sustainable, and livable places; and
