Accepting the gift of airfare and accommodations from the McKnight Foundation for Nancy Homans to travel to Cleveland as part of a delegation to visit the Evergreen Cooperatives.

WHEREAS, Nexus Community Partners and The McKnight Foundation are studying the potential impact of anchor institutions on community and economic development in Minneapolis and Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, as part of that study, they have organized a delegation of local leaders to travel to Cleveland, OH to visit the Evergreen Cooperatives which represents a unique economic development model piloted by the Cleveland Foundation and the Cleveland Clinic; and
WHEREAS, the McKnight Foundation has offered to cover all travel and lodging expenses, not to exceed $1,000, for the Mayor's Policy Director Nancy Homans in order for her to participate in the visit; and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that there is a public purpose for Nancy Homans in participating in this visit to learn about a unique community development model that could be replicated in Saint Paul; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby accepts from The McKnight Foundation the gift of travel expenses and overnight accomodations, not to exceed $1000, for Nancy Homans to travel with the Twin Cities delegation to Cleveland, OH, and thanks The McKnight Foundation for its generous contribution.
