Authorizing the Police Department to accept the grant in the amount of $1,250 from Target Corporation for the 2012 National Night Out.
Body
WHEREAS, the Target Corporation, through its Target & Blue Law Enforcement Grant Program has awarded the St. Paul Police Department (SPPD) a grant for the 2012 National Night Out; and
WHEREAS, the SPPD will use these grant funds to help promote the citywide participation in the National Night Out events organized in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose in accepting this grant is to promote positive partnerships between residents and police, and neighbor to neighbor. The goal of the city's National Night Program is to build community strength among all Saint Paul neighborhoods that will have lasting affects throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, a 2012 financing and spending plan needs to be established for these funds; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $1,250 in excess of those estimated in the 2012 budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the following addition be made to the 2012 budget, and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts this grant and extends a sincere thank you to the Target Corporation; and.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves these changes to the 2012 budget.
