Authorizing the City of Saint Paul to enter into an Operations and Maintenance Cooperative agreement with the State of Minnesota for the replacement of the accessible fishing pier at Loeb Lake.

WHEREAS, the Loeb Lake fishing pier was established cooperatively with the State of Minnesota in 1992 to provide an accessible fishing Pier to meet the needs of children, elderly, people with disabilities and people without other access to fishing opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the fishing pier is in need of replacement and the State will provide funding for the new pier, and the City will provide the services necessary to install and maintain the fishing pier at Loeb Lake; and
WHEREAS, the provision of an accessible fishing pier serves a public purpose in providing recreational opportunities to the public; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council herby authorizes the appropriate city officials to enter into the attached Land Use, Operations and Maintenance Cooperative Agreement with the State of Minnesota.
