Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept the donation of eleven AED's from the Saint Paul Fire Foundation to be used at Recreation Centers.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation trains all recreation staff in first aid procedures and CPR; and
WHEREAS, an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a useful tool when sudden medical emergencies occur; and
WHEREAS, it has been a goal of the Department of Parks and Recreation to equip all recreation centers with AED's when funding or donation became available; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Foundation and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation share a common goal of keeping the citizens safe while utilizing our recreation centers; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Foundation Board has offered to donate 11 AED's for use at Recreation Centers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the donation of 11 AED's valued at $1,100 per AED from the Saint Paul Fire Foundation for use at recreation centers for the safety of our participants, and thanks the Saint Paul Fire Foundation for its generous donation.
