Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to enter into an Agreement and provide indemnification to the State of Minnesota, Department of Natural Resources, for the Cherokee Regional Trail project.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council authorized proper city officials to apply for a Parks and Trails Fund grant with the State of Minnesota, Department of Natural Resources, to develop Cherokee Regional Trail, Resolution 10-210; and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, through the DNR, has granted St. Paul Parks and Recreation $250,000, which will allow further development and construction of Cherokee Regional Trail; and
WHEREAS, the City is required to enter into a grant agreement and indemnify the State of Minnesota, Department of Natural Resources and employees and its successors and assigns as set forth in the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, construction of Cherokee Regional Trail will bring additional opportunities for outdoor recreation, exercise, and leisure activities to the region and will benefit the public; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the appropriate city officials to enter into and execute DNR Grant Agreement #L020-10-3B with the State of Minnesota, Department of Natural Resources, which contains an indemnification clause.
