Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to solicit and accept donations for the 2012 environmental education programs.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Parks and Recreation, provides environmental education programs in the regional parks such as Nature Geocache, Hike It!, Community Camp, and StoryWalk; and
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation does not have a supply budget to support these environmental education programs; and
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to solicit and accept donations specifically to support these programs; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Administrative Code ยง 41.04(c)and (e) permit any department head or designee to solicit funds on behalf of the city or on behalf of any city-sponsored function or organization in amounts less than $500.00 and requires that the information be filed with the city clerk ; and
WHEREAS, quarterly reportsof all solicitations must be sent to the city clerk, mayor and each councilperson, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Director of Parks and Recreation or his designee is authorized to solicit and accept donations for the 2012 environmental education programs. Quarterly reports of said donations shall be made and acceptance of all such donations may be made in the form of one resolution at the end of the year.
