Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for, and, if awarded, accept a grant in the amount of up to $250 from USA Pickleball Association to be used for reimbursement for Pickleball nets and other supplies.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, through its Recreation for Adults 50+ program, offers many events, classes or activities during the year; and
WHEREAS, Pickelball is a new and growing sport for older adults; and
WHEREAS, offering more opportunities to play Pickleball will allow the Department to serve more active older adults; and
WHEREAS, the USA Pickleball Association has a grant program to offset costs for this activity and the Department would like to apply for a grant; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, Program for Adults 50+ is authorized to apply for and, if awarded, accept a grant from the USA Pickleball Association in the amount of up to $250, to be used as reimbursement for Pickleball nets and other supplies
