Authorizing the City to enter into Agreement Number 00813 with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), Nice Ride Capital Area Expansion-S.P. 164-070-013, STPX 6212(230).

WHEREAS, Nice Ride Minnesota is a local success story, and has also drawn attention nationally, inspiring other cities to develop bike-sharing programs; and
WHEREAS, Nice Ride Minnesota successfully expanded into Saint Paul in 2011; and
WHEREAS, the continued expansion of Nice Ride Minnesota into the Capital Aea will provide even more people with access to bike share as a way to improve their health, lower their transportation costs, and have improved access to businesses and cultural destinations; and
WHEREAS, the FHWA and Blue Cross Blue Shield are committed to supporting Nice Ride Minnesota's Capital Area Expansion;
THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to Minnesota Stat. Sec. 161.36 the Commissioner of Transportation be appointed as the Agent of the City of Saint Paul to accept as its agent federal aid funds which may be made available for eligible transportation related project; and
THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Saint Paul enter into MN/DOT Agreement 00813 with the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation and that the Mayor and proper city officials are authorized to execute the Agreement Number 00813 and any amendments to the agreement.
