Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Public Works in the amount of $46,000 for financing for the Morton Street Stairs Project.  
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has awarded a contract for the reconstruction of the Morton Street Stairs known as project SU-0302331 and adopted by City Council under resolution 10-1474, and
WHEREAS, the bids for the project came in higher than estimated due in part to the stairs having to be fabricated offsite because we had no local vendors bid the project, and
WHEREAS, Public Works proposes to transfer funds from the 2012 Citywide Stairway Repair and Replacement Program in order to cover the increased costs for the Morton Street Stairs Project, and
WHEREAS, the proposed funding transfer is consistent with how the Stairway Repair and Replacement Program is described in the capital budget as being able to allow for the reconstruction and/or rehabilitation of public stairways at various locations throughout the city, and
 
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for transfer of appropriation funds of $46,000 in the Capital Improvement Budget; so
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $46,000 is available for transfer in the Capital Improvement Budget, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the Capital Improvement Budget as detailed on the attached.
