Amending the 2012 budget in the Department of Planning and Economic Development in the total amount of $2,675,000 to accept Livable Communities Demonstration Account Grants and Local Housing Incentives Account Grants from the Metropolitan Council.

WHEREAS, the City Council on July 27, 2011, by Resolution #11-1393 authorized the Director of the Department of Planning and Economic Development to apply to the Metropolitan Council for Livable Communities Demonstration Account grants; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Planning and Economic Development has acknowledged the applications of St. Philips Gardens St. Alban's Park and Dayton's Bluff to the Metropolitan Council's Metropolitan Livable Communities Act - Local Housing Incentives Account grants program; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council approved Livable Communities Demonstration Account grants of $100,000 for Ford Zoning Study, and $1,250,000 for Schmidt, and $750,000 for 1333 University Avenue, and approved Local Housing Incentives Account grants of $400,000 for St. Philips Gardens St. Alban's Park and $175,000 for Dayton's Bluff; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does hereby certify that $2,675,000 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2012 budget and recommends the changes to the 2012 budget identified on Attachment A:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saint Paul accepts these grants and approves the changes identified on Attachment A to the 2012 budget.
