Accepting the gift of attendance for certain city officials at the Red Bull Crashed Ice VIP Viewing Party hosted by the Saint Paul RiverCentre Convention and Visitors Authority including food and non-alcoholic beverages to be served at the event.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul RiverCentre Convention and Visitors Authority (RCVA) generates economic growth for Saint Paul by effectively marketing the RiverCentre campus, Saint Paul and the region as a preferred convention and tourism destination; and
WHEREAS, to celebrate and highlight Red Bull Crashed Ice, a one-of-a-kind event that will take place in front of Saint Paul's beautiful Cathedral and will bring a national spotlight to Saint Paul, the RCVA is hosting a VIP Viewing Party on the sixth floor of the Smith Transit Center; and
WHEREAS, the RCVA will provide complimentary food and non-alcoholic beverages to attendees of the VIP Viewing Party; and
WHEREAS, the RCVA is hosting this event on January 13 and 14, 2012, for clients, sponsors, Board Members, and all of their respective families of the RCVA; and
WHEREAS, the RCVA has also invited the members of the City Council, the Mayor, other Saint Paul Public Officials, and their respective families to this event; and
WHEREAS, the attendance of these City Officials will help promote the City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the value of the food and non-alcoholic beverages will not exceed $25.00 per City Official; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul thanks the Saint Paul RiverCentre Convention and Visitors Authority and gratefully accepts this offer.
