Title
Amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Safety (DSI) and Inspections in the amount of $75,000 for the 2026 Building Official Training (BOT) from the Minnesota Department of Labor.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, DSI, has been awarded a grant in the amount of $75,000 which requires no matching funds; and
WHEREAS, DSI received approval to apply for this grant in RES 25-1626; and
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received; and
WHEREAS, this grant provides an opportunity to invest in the professional development of a building official with the intention of employment after the training has concluded; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation total revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget, funds of $75,000 in the Safety and Inspections Grant Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accept the grant and hereby approves the changes to the 2026 budget referenced in this resolution and furthermore authorizes the appropriate city officials to approve the 2026 BOT Grant.
