Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to solicit and accept donations for the 2018 Citywide Spring Cleanup event.

 

Body

 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Parks and Recreation, in coordination with the Department of Public Works, will be holding the annual Citywide Spring Cleanup event on April 21st, 2018; and

 

WHEREAS, the event is in partnership with the City’s Come Clean! program, that works in cooperation with local District Councils and with engaged community members who volunteer to help keep the City clean; and

 

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to solicit and accept donations specifically for this event; and

 

WHEREAS,  Saint Paul Administrative Code §41.04 (b) requires prior approval of the city council by resolution to solicit funds and/or property or services in kind on behalf of the city; anf

 

WHEREAS,  Saint Paul Administrative Code §41.04 (c) allows a department head or designee to solicit funds which are individually $500 or less with such approval;now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Director of Parks and Recreation or his designee, in coordination with the Department of Public Works, is authorized to solicit and accept donations in the amount of $500 or less per donation for the 2018 Citywide Spring Cleanup event; and be it

 

•                     FURTHER RESOLVED, that pursuant to Saint Paul Administrative Code §41.04 (e) and (f), the titles of designees created by the department head shall at the time of designation be filed with the city clerk and the Department of Parks and Recreation shall submit quarterly reports of all solicitations pursuant to this resolution to the city clerk, mayor and each councilperson.
