Title

Requesting that the City levy property taxes for the Saint Paul Public Library Agency.

Body

WHEREAS, in accordance with the Saint Paul Administrative Code §14.05, Mayor Carter presented to the Library Board on August 29, 2025, the Library Agency's 2026 proposed budget, with said recommended budget totaling $27,398,409; and

 

WHEREAS, the budget requested by the Library Agency and proposed by the Mayor includes, as part of the comprehensive 2026 financing plan for the Saint Paul Public Library Agency, that the net property tax levy payable in 2026 be $23,085,491 as detailed below: 

 

Library Board Recommended Tax Levy:

 

                     City Levy for Library Agency Operations                   23,085,491

                     City Levy for Library Agency Debt Services                                                     0

                                          Total Recommended:                                   23,085,491

 

                     Net Levy Library Agency                                                                          23,085,491

 

Now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that in accordance with Saint Paul Administrative Code §14.05(g), the Library Board requests that the City of Saint Paul set this maximum levy on behalf of the Library Agency, and certify to the Ramsey County Auditor the portion of the proposed maximum tax levy shown for the City of Saint Paul for the Saint Paul Library Agency for taxes payable in 2026.
