Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept a donation in the amount of $2,150 from the Northwest Como Booster Club.
Body
WHEREAS, the Northwest Como Booster club is a non-profit organization that promotes youth programming at Northwest Como Recreation Center; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest Como Booster club wishes to donate $2,150 to the Department of Parks and Recreation to be used as reimbursement for supplies for the Northwest Como Community Cookout and Northwest Como’s youth Soccer Stars camp as well as offsetting costs for the youth field trips to Valley Fair, Sky Zone, and Science Museum; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept said monetary donation from the Northwest Como Booster Club to be used as reimbursement for supplies for the Northwest Como Community Cookout and Northwest Como’s youth Soccer Stars camp as well as offsetting costs for youth field trips to Valley Fair, Sky Zone, and Science Museum; and
WHEREAS, the donation, if accepted, will be used as stated above to enhance youth programming with the Northwest Como Recreation Center; and
WHEREAS, there is no required match of these funds by the City; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council finds that the donation of this gift to support programming at Northwest Como Recreation center has a public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept said donation from the Northwest Como Booster Club and thanks them for their generous donation.
