Approving the request for removal of license condition #3 deleting the requirement of closing the establishment at 12:00 a.m. for the licenses held by The Essence Event Center Inc d/b/a The Essence Event Center (License ID #20200000193) for the premises located at 1217 Bandana Boulevard North.

WHEREAS, the Licensee requested removal of License condition #3 which the Licensee agreed to close the establishment at 12:00 a.m. midnight; and
WHEREAS, the Licensee reached out to the District 10 Como Community Council to discuss the request; and
WHEREAS, the Licensee met with the District 10 Como Community Council on October 18, 2022 to explain that she wanted to amend license condition #3 for New Year’s Eve events to close after midnight; and
WHEREAS, the District 10 Como Community Council supported that the License Condition #3 be removed from the Licenses held by Licensee and provided a letter of support herein attached as Exhibit 1; and
WHEREAS, on November 2, 2022, the Department sent out Notice of the change for the Licenses held by Licensee; and
WHEREAS, the License conditions changes approved by the Department are noted with strike out as follows:
1. No liquor sales, service, display and/or consumption is allowed outdoors without prior written approval and additional licensing from the Department of Safety and Inspections (DSI).
2. Licensee agrees to abide by Minnesota State Statute Section 340A.504 Subd. 3 stating that Sunday liquor sale/service/display/consumption may only occur in conjunction with the service of food by the licensed establishment for consumption on the premises.
3. Licensee agrees to close the establishment at 12:00 a.m. midnight. All patrons/customers/guests shall vacate the premises by 12:30 a.m. each day of the week as per City Zoning Code (parking requirement).
