Title

Authorizing the Police Department to purchase refreshments for employee recognition ceremonies and events in 2025.

Body

WHEREAS, the Chief of Police, Axel Henry, recognizes and acknowledges police employees for their outstanding achievements and exemplary dedication to public services; and

 

WHEREAS, recognition ceremonies and other events, including but not limited to, Medal of Valor, Chief’s Award, Employee of the Year, and the promotion of employees are held throughout the year at various places and times; and

 

WHEREAS, the public purpose of the ceremonies and events is that the City Council and Mayor deem it important to recognize the commitment and dedication to public service of the City’s police employees and promote the department’s commitment to service with purpose; and

 

WHEREAS, funding for Chiefs Recognition expenses were approved as part of the General and Special Fund 2025 Adopted Budgets; and

 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to the 2025 city budget, the proper city officials are hereby authorized to remit an amount not to exceed $7,000 to cover expenses including food, beverages, and room rental incurred from the above various ceremonies, Chief’s meetings, and other events during 2025.
