Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $300 to accept the donation received from the Saint Paul Fire Supervisory Association for the Safety Camp.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Supervisory Association has offered to donate $300 to the Fire Department in support of the Safety Camp; and

 

WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to accept the donation from the Saint Paul Fire Supervisory Association; and

 

WHEREAS, the public purpose of this donation is to support Safety Camp which includes food for the participants and it was held on July 13-14, 2017 at the Jimmy Lee Recreation Center; and

 

WHEREAS, Safety Camp is sponsored by the Fire Department, Police Department, Parks Department, and Regions Hospital to teach inner-city children between the ages of 6-12 years old, lessons in health and safety including fire safety, water safety, weather safety, personal safety, bike safety, CPR, and sports safety; and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the donation received; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $300 in excess of those estimated in the 2017 budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the following additional changes be made to the 2017 budget:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts this donation of $300 from the Saint Paul Fire Supervisory Association, thanks them for the generous gift, and approves the changes to the 2017 budget.
