Title

Approving and authorizing acceptance of a Livable Communities Demonstration Account Pre-Development grant and a Livable Communities Transit-Oriented Development grant from the Metropolitan Council, and amending the 2019 Budget.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City Council on:

 

§                     April 24, 2019, by Resolution number 19-629, authorized the Department of Planning and Economic Development to apply to the Metropolitan Council Livable Communities Transit-Oriented Development Grant for 422 University Avenue West (Little Mekong Market);

 

§                     April 24, 2019, by Resolution number 19-630, authorized the Department of Planning and Economic Development to apply to the Metropolitan Council Livable Communities Demonstration Account Pre-Development Grant for 966 Mississippi River Boulevard South (Ford Site Redevelopment); and

 

                     

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has approved the following grant applications:

 

§                     Livable Communities Transit-Oriented Development grant of $100,000.00 for 422 University Avenue West (Little Mekong Market);

 

§                     Livable Communities Demonstration Account grant of $100,000.00 for 966 Mississippi River Boulevard South (Ford Site Redevelopment); and

 

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does hereby certify that $ 200,000.00 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2019 budget and recommends the changes to the 2019 budget identified on the attached Financial Analysis; 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saint Paul accepts these grants and approves the changes identified on the attached Financial Analysis to the 2019 budget; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Director of the Office of Financial Services, Director of Human Rights and Equal Opportunity, and Director of Planning and Economic Development of the City of Saint Paul are hereby authorized to execute such agreements as are necessary to implement the purposes of this resolution.
