Authorizing Mayor Her Inauguration Committee to coordinate planning of Mayor-Elect Her's Inauguration and Related Events.
Body
WHEREAS, Mayor-Elect Her's inauguration event will take place on January 2, 2026, and related inauguration events ("the Events") will occur in connection with the inauguration; and
WHEREAS, attendance at Events will be relatively limited due to space, they will be live-streamed for residents, businesses, or anyone else interested in observing the Events; and
WHEREAS, Mayor-Elect Her has designated the Mayor Her Inauguration Committee to solicit donations to pay for the Events pursuant to Section 41.03 of the Saint Paul Administrative Code; and
WHEREAS, as the designee to raise funds for the Events, it is desired that Mayor Her Inauguration Committee oversee planning of the Events which includes entering into contracts for the Events and paying any costs related to the Events with the funds raised; and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that the Events will be an opportunity to come together as a City and for all to observe from any location; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council authorizes Mayor Her Inauguration Committee to plan the Events which includes entering into contracts for the Events and paying all expenses from funds raised for the Events; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council authorized the appropriate City officials to enter into and execute any contracts necessary to carry out this Resolution; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that donations for the EVENTS are hereby accepted as gifts to the City to be used for the purpose of hosting the Inauguration Events.
