Authorizing reimbursement up to $600 per event for the purchase of snacks and refreshments for community listening sessions hosted by the Reparations Commission.

WHEREAS a series of listening sessions may be conducted throughout each ward of the city with the first scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2025 in partnership with Ward 7, at the Dayton’s Bluff Rec. Center, 800 Conway St., Saint Paul, MN; and
WHEREAS the purpose of the listening sessions is to connect primarily with African American residents about the issue of reparations to help shape the future of equity, justice, and repair in our city; and
WHEREAS the expenditure of money for snacks and refreshments serves a public purpose by fostering community engagement and hearing directly from affected community members; and therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council is authorized to purchase snacks and refreshments for the Reparations Commission community listening sessions up to a total of $600 per event.
