Body

WHEREAS, The City of Detroit has been awarded a $25 million grant to plan for the development of the Woodward Avenue Light Rail Line; and

WHEREAS, Midtown Detroit, Inc. has invited Craig Blakely from PED along with other staff from the Metropolitan Council, the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Neighborhood Development Center to Detroit, Michigan on May 12^th and 13^th, 2013, to discuss Saint Paul's experience with planning for light rail and mitigating the short term impacts of construction and the long term impacts of the loss of parking; and

WHEREAS, Midtown Detroit, Inc. has offered to pay the airfare and lodging expenses for Craig Blakely in the amount of $995.00; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the donation of transportation and lodging costs for Craig Blakely to travel to Detroit, Michigan on May 12^th to the 13^th,  2013.
