Amending the 2024 General Fund budget for the Fire and Safety Department and the Special Fund budget for General Government Accounts.
Financial Analysis
WHEREAS, the Fire and Safety Department has a need for greater employee expenses than the adopted budget; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient savings in non-personnel costs; therefore via,
ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER, consistent with the authority granted to the Mayor in Section 10.07.4 of the City Charter, and on the request of the Fire Chief to amend the 2024 spending budget for the reallocation of funds within existing budgets. This is a reallocation of budgeted spending to more accurately reflect anticipated expenses and provide appropriate levels of spending authority within accounting unit budgets.
Specifically, savings from non-personnel costs are being reallocated to 1) support an additional HR Consultant in the General Fund, and 2) shift an EMT position to the Public Safety Aid Fund. The Director of the Office of Financial Services is authorized to amend said budget in the manner specified in the attached financial analysis form.
