Title
Amending the financing and spending budgets in the Department of Public Works in order to accept additional Federal funds through the Non-Motorized Transportation Program for the Charles Avenue Bikeway Project and to adjust the budget for Trunk Highway Funds that were not awarded.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received bids for the Charles Avenue Bikeway Project being constructed from Park to Aldine, and
WHEREAS, the bid amounts received are higher than the engineer's estimate for the project, and  
 
WHEREAS, Public Works requested and received additional Federal Non-Motorized Transportation Program (NMTP) funds to cover a portion of the amount needed to award a contract and construct the project, and
 
WHEREAS, CIB contingency balances will be used to supplement the NMTP funds to cover the remaining amount needed to award a contract for the project; and
WHEREAS, Trunk Highway funds originally budgeted in project were subsequently not awarded; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $185,569.64 and pursuant to Section 10.07.4 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul does certify that there are available for transfer funds of $141,901.36 in the Capital Improvement Budgets; so
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $327,471 is available for appropriation in the Capital Improvement Budgets, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the Improvement Budgets in the following particulars:
