Approval of a Lease Agreement between the Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation and The JK Movement.

WHEREAS, the City and JK Movement entered into a Management Services Agreement on March 29, 2022 for management and programming at Jimmy Lee Recreation Center/Oxford Community Complex located at 270 Lexington Pkwy. N, St. Paul, MN 55104; and
WHEREAS, the City and JK Movement have determined it is in the best interests of the parties to enter into this lease and a separate development agreement which will allow for capital improvements to the Property; and
WHEREAS, the proposed lease is being executed in connection with financing secured by the City, and other nonprofit funds secured by the Tenant which require a commitment for the development, management, and lease of the Leased Premises by the City to JK Movement; and
WHEREAS, the Parks Commission of the City of Saint Paul recommended approval of the lease agreement during its Tuesday October 21st special meeting; and
WHEREAS, the City and JK Movement desire to enter into this lease defining their respective rights, duties, and liabilities relating to the Leased Premises; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the appropriate City officials to enter into the proposed lease between the Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation and The JK Movement.
