Title
Appeal of Aretta-Rie Johnson, D.I.V.I.N.E. Institute, to a Vacant Building Registration Renewal Notice at 842 RICE STREET.
Date/Time of 1st LH: Tuesday, December 8, 2020, teleconference call between 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Purpose of Appeal: D.I.V.I.N.E. Institute, Inc., did a purchase agreement for the referenced property December 2019 with a March 2020 date to purchase. COVID-19 interfered and subsequently our Asian investors pulled out. We were able to extend the purchase agreement while we pulled money together for the purchase. We purchased in June 2020 and have been assiduously and aggressively looking for funding sources to commence construction. Adding this unforeseen cost will be a colossal onus on our fledgling organization.
Date of Order(s) Under Appeal: November 25, 2020
Inspector/Key Staff: Rick Gavin
Legislative Hearing Staff Comments: Condemnation back 1/17/14 (unable to open folder), VB opened on 11/24/20. No Team Inspection done due to owner converting bldg to multi-unit residential use on 2/28/18, but Plan Review and Zoning approval was needed.
